Simply Sensational Salsa
I am meeting an old friend's new girlfriend for the first time tonight. I am going to whip up a batch of simple, homemade salsa to serve with tortilla chips.
I really don't know why anyone would buy or eat salsa from a jar. Most brands are loaded with salt and often contain artificial flavors, ingredients and colors. If you want to buy a better salsa with better ingredients, that's fine, but it's going to cost you. It works out to be more economical to make your own and most of the ingredients, you probably already have in the house! And it's SO easy to make your own salsa!
Here is the simplest, most sensation salsa ever! It is so fresh and bursting with flavor! You will love it. Your guests will love it. You might want to make a double batch because this salsa will go very quickly!
4-5 medium tomatoes
1/2 medium sized onion
1 scallion
1/4 cup of fresh cilantro
1 teaspoon of fresh lemon or lime juice (or a combination of each)
1 teaspoon of vinegar
1/4 -1 jalapeno pepper
1 clove of garlic
salt and pepper to taste
Put all ingredients in blender and use pulse method to get the texture you want. If you want a very coarse salsa, blend only one tomato in the machine and use a knife to cut the remaining tomatoes to the thickness you want.
Yours in Good Health,
Cynthia
